Assured Dental Care is a dental clinic in Andheri West, Mumbai, where veneers are planned around the shape, colour and position of the front teeth and around your health, not a fixed look. A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain or composite that is bonded to the front surface of a tooth, a little like a false fingernail on a nail. Veneers can change the colour, shape and length of a tooth, close small gaps and hide chips or stains that whitening cannot fix.
Your care is led by Dr. Shreya Shah, Chief Dentist, who first checks your teeth and gums and asks what you want to change. If you are looking for a dentist in Andheri West for veneers, the first step is an examination and a talk about the alternatives, because some veneers need part of the enamel to be removed and that cannot be undone.

Veneers at Assured Dental Care in Andheri West, Mumbai are thin shells of porcelain or composite bonded to the front of teeth to change their colour, shape or length. Dr. Shreya Shah examines your teeth first and explains the alternatives. Some veneers need enamel to be removed, which cannot be undone.
Examination and a talk about what you want start at your first visit, subject to availability.
Whitening, bonding and aligners are explained, so that you choose veneers only if they suit you.
You are told how much enamel, if any, a veneer plan removes before you decide.
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain or composite resin that is fitted over the front surface of a tooth. It is bonded in place with a strong dental adhesive. Veneers can change the colour of a tooth that does not respond to whitening, repair a chipped or worn edge, make a small tooth larger, close small gaps and improve the look of a misshapen tooth.1
Porcelain veneers are made in a laboratory and usually need a thin layer of enamel to be removed from the front of the tooth so that the veneer fits without looking bulky. Composite veneers are built on the tooth directly and need little or no shaping. Because removing enamel is irreversible, veneers are chosen after other options, such as teeth whitening and dental bonding, are considered.2
Veneers cover the front of a tooth only. If a tooth is heavily broken down or has had root canal treatment, a dental crown that covers the whole tooth may protect it better. If your concern is crowded or tilted teeth, clear aligners may suit better than covering the teeth.
A veneer covers the front of a tooth to change how it looks, and some types need healthy enamel to be removed.

Dr. Shreya Shah decides this only after an examination and a talk about what you want. These are the general patterns.
If your teeth are healthy but dull, teeth cleaning and scaling and whitening may be enough. If a chip can be repaired without shaping, bonding may do. If gums are inflamed, gum treatment usually comes first, and a smile makeover plan may bring several treatments together.
Veneers suit healthy front teeth, and an examination shows whether yours qualify.
The right choice depends on your teeth, what you want to change and how much shaping you accept. Dr. Shah explains the options.
Made in a laboratory from thin porcelain, they are strong and resist staining. Most need a thin layer of enamel to be removed, and the process cannot be undone.
Usually 2 visitsBuilt on the tooth in layers from tooth-coloured resin, in one visit, with little or no shaping. They can be repaired but stain and wear more than porcelain.
Usually 1 visitWhitening lightens natural teeth, bonding repairs small chips and gaps, and aligners move teeth. We explain these so that you choose with the facts.
After discussion| Compare | Porcelain veneer | Composite veneer | Whitening |
|---|---|---|---|
| Changes colour | Yes | Yes | Yes, natural teeth only |
| Changes shape | Yes | Yes | No |
| Enamel removed | Usually, a thin layer | Little or none | None |
| Typical visits | Two | One | One or more |
| Main risk | Chips, irreversible shaping | Stains and wears | Sensitivity |
Veneers are one option among several, and we explain the trade-offs before you decide.
Porcelain veneers usually take two visits, about one to two weeks apart. Composite veneers are done in one visit. Your plan may differ.1
A natural result depends on careful planning, accurate impressions and a bite check.
Dr. Shah examines your teeth, gums and bite and takes X-rays. Decay and gum disease are treated first, and she checks that there is enough enamel for a veneer to bond to.
You say what you would like to change. Photographs and models help to plan the shape, length and shade, and we talk about what is realistic for your teeth.
The planned shape may be made on a model, and in some cases a trial of the shape is placed on your teeth so that you can see and comment on it.
For porcelain veneers, the teeth are numbed and the front surface is shaped to make room. The amount removed is kept as small as the plan allows.
An impression or digital scan records the shaped teeth. It goes to the laboratory with the shade and the plan.
Temporary veneers protect the shaped teeth and hold the look while the final ones are made.
At the second visit the final veneers are tried in, checked for fit, shape, shade and bite, and then bonded to the teeth with adhesive and a light.
You are shown how to clean around the veneers. A review visit checks the bite and the gums, and regular check-ups follow.
Cost depends on your evaluation. Veneers are planned for each person, so no single figure fits everyone.
Two people can need very different work. After the examination and a talk about what you want, Dr. Shreya Shah explains the stages, and the cost of each stage is discussed before you decide to go ahead.
Call 08806796696 or message us on WhatsApp. If you have trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling is spreading to your eye or neck, go to a hospital emergency department. For a lost veneer or other urgent problem, see dental emergency treatment.
A chipped or loose veneer is easier to fix when we see it early.
Veneers can look natural when the teeth are healthy, and we advise against them when a gentler option would do.
Your first visit is an examination and a talk about what you want. No teeth are shaped at the first visit.
Bring any photographs of looks you like and any earlier dental records. Tell us about grinding, clenching, allergies and the medicines you take. Think about whether you are comfortable with the shaping of the teeth that porcelain veneers need.

Whitening, bonding, aligners and veneers are explained side by side, so that you choose with the facts about each.
You are told how much enamel, if any, a plan removes and that it cannot be undone, before you agree to start.
Decay and gum disease are treated first, so that veneers go onto healthy teeth.
If a case needs training beyond what is available, Dr. Shah says so and arranges coordinated care with a suitably trained clinician.

Veneers are planned for each person, so the cost is given only after your evaluation. It depends on the number of teeth, the material, how much shaping each tooth needs, the laboratory work, any treatment needed first, a trial of the new shape and the follow-up. After the examination, Dr. Shreya Shah explains the plan and the cost of each stage before you decide.
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain or composite that is fitted over the front surface of a tooth, like a false fingernail on a nail. It changes the colour, shape or length of a tooth and can close small gaps. A veneer needs a healthy tooth with enough enamel to bond to.
Some veneers need a thin layer of enamel to be removed from the front of the tooth, and this cannot be undone. Some veneers need little or none. Dr. Shah explains how much shaping your plan involves before you decide. A veneer on a healthy tooth that is cared for does not damage it, but the tooth will always need some form of covering on that surface.
Porcelain veneers are made in a laboratory, are strong and resist staining, and usually take two visits. Composite veneers are built directly on the tooth in one visit from tooth-coloured resin and can be repaired more easily, but they stain and wear more. We explain which suits your teeth.
Veneers do not last for ever. How long they last depends on the material, your bite, grinding habits and how well you clean. A veneer can chip, come off or stain at the edge, and it will need repair or replacement at some point. We cannot say in advance how long a veneer will stay in place.
No. Veneers do not change colour with whitening gel, so the shade is chosen before they are made. If you want your natural teeth lightened, this is usually done first, and the veneers are matched to the lighter shade.
Often, yes. We can plan the new shape with photographs and models, and in some cases a trial of the shape is placed on your teeth before the final veneers are made. This lets you see and comment on the shape and length.
Veneers are not advised if you have untreated decay or gum disease, heavy grinding or clenching that has not been managed, very little enamel, or a bite that would put the veneers under strain. We tell you honestly if another option such as bonding or whitening would suit you better.
If you are thinking about veneers, an examination and a talk about the alternatives is the first step. If you have a veneer plan from another clinic, we are happy to give a second opinion. Call or message us during clinic hours and we will confirm a time with you.
